This is an excellent article/study from the US Water Alliance discussing the water access crisis – IN THE UNITED STATES.
Hundreds of millions of people worldwide lack ready access to drinkable water, but even in the United States – a country with a well-developed infrastructure – 2 million people find themselves in the same… er boat – without drinkable water.
This report gives detailed insights into six areas around the country where this problem is prevalent, from California to West Virginia to Puerto Rico.
It also discusses strategies for alleviating the water crisis including interim solutions such as point-of-use filtering and decontamination (which is where the DayZero water box would fit in), and long-term changes to funding strategies and infrastructure – which are the ultimate solution.
All in all this is a very important read.
